It’s the fun run the whole family can participate in, thanks to a special 2km category for youngsters – and it is taking place again on Saturday March 19.
With the countdown to the SWAS Albemarle Fun Run well underway, now is the time to register for the popular annual event taking place along the picturesque Ridley Place Foreshore Park in Australind.
Whether you are young or young at heart, there is something for people of all ages and abilities to compete in, with a range of categories on offer.
Enthusiasts and serious competitors have a 10km run, 5km run or 5km walk to choose from in junior and senior categories.
The junior 2km category gives school-aged children the opportunity to experience the thrill of participating in a fun run, with the school with the most entrants on the day to receive a cash and technology prize.
Every finisher in the event will receive a medal, and there are cash prizes for category winners along with lucky draw prizes for participants.
SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion encouraged community members of all ages and abilities to have a go at participating in a fun run.
“Get behind this family-friendly community event – come along and have a good morning out,” Butlion said.
Register online. Prams welcome. Late entries accepted on the day of the event but only cashless payments will be able to be made.
The SWAS Albemarle Fun Run will adhere to the Covid Event Management checklist, and the event has been registered with the Department of Health.
