The SWAS Netball Program is a high-performance training environment that provides athletes with specialist training to increase their opportunity to reach their potential as elite athletes.
SWAS Netball uses a holistic approach to development, focusing on the individual as well as the qualities required to play in a team, covering physical, tactical, technique and performance skills coaching.
The netball program provides specialised skills training sessions for the athletes in small groups and as individuals working on match skills.
Fitness testing is undertaken throughout the season. The athletes work closely with exercise physiologists individually and in small groups following functional movement assessments to ensure they are progressing with their specific strengthening programs.
Athletes are not only encouraged to complete the Foundation Coaching course but are mentored in coaching roles within the local junior netball programs and are provided with access to a number of workshops such as Nutrition and the Developing Champions Workshop to ensure they are building on life skills that will take them through and beyond their on-court careers.
