Sometimes it’s the experiences that standout over the victories.
And for young golfers it’s hard to top competing at Australia’s premier junior event for emerging players.
In April, South West Academy of Sport athlete Aiyana Morris had the chance to put herself to the test at the Australian Junior Amateur in Tasmania, describing it as “one of the best experiences” she has ever had.
The Gelorup talent shared the green with up-and-coming golfers who served up “tough competition.”
“It’s a mental and physical step up to what I’ve been doing here,” Morris said.
“I learnt that there is a much larger world of golf.”
The 17-year-old, who plans to start studying towards a commerce degree at Curtin University in July, was recently named the winner of the Perth Royal Golf Club’s 2023 Girls Club Championships.
“It was a good experience because I played with some people I hadn’t played with before,” Morris said.
