Registrations now open

The family-friendly South West Academy of Sport (SWAS) Fun Run returns to the Australind foreshore on Saturday March 19 with Albemarle Corporation as the event partner.

“It is terrific to have Albemarle Corporation supporting this popular event through the involvement and volunteerism of Albemarle’s Kemerton Operations team,” said SWAS chief executive officer Bernice Butlion.

“We look forward to staging the SWAS Albemarle Fun Run and encourage people of all ages and abilities to participate. It is an ideal activity for families to do together and for those looking for a reason to get off the couch and away from the screen.”

The popular event features categories to cater for everyone including a 10km run, 5km run and 5km walk categories. There is a special 2km category that allows juniors to have a go.

“As we build our lithium business in the area, one important focus for us is community engagement and support of local activities through our community program. We are delighted to partner with SWAS and encourage workforce participation in this community event,” said Albemarle Kemerton site director Daniel O’Shea.

Every finisher will receive a medal. All category winners receive cash prizes.
